The Badgers celebrated their most successful season to date in fine style on Saturday night at the Fentiman Arms in the shadow of the historic Oval cricket ground. Peter Jinks was voted in as the new skipper for 2011 who, together with the club's new vice-captain Nick Foord, faces a tough challenge to improve on the 73.68 win percentage of the season past.
The other big news was the unveiling of the club's new Honorary President: Christopher Martin-Jenkins MBE. The MCC President, Test Match Special stalwart and celebrated cricket journalist, CMJ, was handed his Badger cap at a Lord's Taveners event, and warned he would be checking up on training sessions.
After the AGM, the long wait was finally over as the winners of the coveted end of season awards were announced. Congratulations to the following deserved winners, as voted for by their fellow Badgers:
- Most Valuable Innings: Pete Jinks
- Most Valuable Bowling Spell: Alex Morse
- Most Improved Player: Oli Blaiklock
- Champagne Moment: Alex Shires
- Badger Of The Season: Nick Foord
