A characteristic display of bouncebackability allowed Battersea Badgers to put the Oakhill result behind them and see off the Roehampton Bats in a one-sided match at the Dundonald Rec. A score of 221/2 proved too much for the Bats to handle, with Jinks and Warman both making daddy fifties along the way.

Three wickets apiece for Richard Dollimore, Hirst and Blake prevented the Bats from getting any kind of foothold in the game and the final wicket was taken with them still 47 runs shy of victory.

In a surreal twist, Steve Dollimore and Shone came in to bat for Roehampton at numbers 10 and 11, as the Bats had only been able to field nine players. Although the match was all but over, both players managed to notch up personal victories and take home some bragging rights. Shone was faced with seven fielders camped out on the leg side but still found a way to thread two fours through his favoured scoring zone, and Dollimore smashed his brother back over his head for a mammoth six to accompany his 25 runs from 17 balls. Sadly, the fun was ended when brother Richard dismantled brother Steve’s stumps and the Bats were finally able to leave a match in which they had had no players playing for the final 20 minutes.
